2. MEETINGS UPDATE

2.1. ISFE Study Day 2010

5 July 2010, BDA Headquarters, London.

72 Delegates attended.

Morning session had parallel split sessions for trainees and FTTA trainers. Trainers’ session was run in liaison with Laura Mitchell, who chaired a Questions and Answers session regarding the ISFE for the trainers.

Joint afternoon session had 1 Critical appraisal, 2 Clinical, and 2 Management presentations.

2.2. SHO Study Day

Plan to run 2 study days this year.
Southern Study Day 12 November 2010 – BOS HQ.
Northern Study Day 10 December 2010 – Chesterfield.

2.3. TGG/OSG initiative

Meeting to be run in conjunction with the OSG.
Confirmed for11 December 2010 at BOS HQ
Plan to run a meeting similar to the SHO study day, for trainees who are looking to enter specialist practice following SpR training.

3. FTTA Survey

a. Has been piloted with FTTAs on TGG committee.

b. Changes made from feedback received from the COG committee and pilot.

c. Will be circulated September 2010

4. A Guide for prospective applicants to Orthodontics

Currently in the process of being updated.

5. BOS TGG Distinguished Trainer Award

Change of title.
New method of selecting award recipient.
