Annual General Meeting 2009
Annual General Meeting (AGM)
Dear colleague
The programme for the TGG Annual General Meeting (AGM) to be held at the BOS conference in Edinburgh is nearing completion. It is to be held in the Sidlaw Auditorium as soon as the main programme ends on Sunday September 13th.
This year, once again we are grateful to TOC for sponsoring a drinks reception for all TGG members at the start of the AGM. This reception will be set up from 5.15 until 5.45, thereafter the meeting will start.
The AGM this year will start with a talk by Professor Nigel Hunt, Professor of Orthodontics at the Eastman Dental Institute and Chairperson of the SAC in Orthodontics on the current state of play with changes to our orthodontic curriculum. It will be an update on changes to training that may involve orthodontic trainees in the future having to state at the start of the course whether they wish to apply for a 3yr training course that entitles them to work in Specialist practice or the new 5 year Maxillofacial orthodontic course that will train them effectively to be an NHS orthodontic consultant.
Thereafter there will be a talk by Helen Knight, Chairperson of the Consultant Orthodontic Group (COG) on the future of Hospital Orthodontic Consultancy. Thereafter there will be reports by the current TGG committee and then elections for new the 2010 TGG committee.
If you would like to stand for a position on the committee please look out for the nomination forms which should be coming to you soon. If you are attending the conference this year, we very much hope to see you at the AGM.
Kind regards
Sadaf Khan
TGG Chairperson
