Sharing in our success

British Society for Paediatric Dentistry moves to BOS HQ

BOS is delighted to welcome the British Society of Paediatric Dentistry (BSPD) to share some space at our headquarters. From 1 May, BSPD will have a permanent office at Bridewell Place where they will also be able to avail themselves of our administrative and meeting room facilities and, in doing so, contribute to the running costs of the building.

The British Society of Paediatric Dentistry is the national society specifically concerned with the oral health of children in the UK. It aims to improve oral health in children and encourage the highest standards of clinical care.

BSPD has over 800 members from university and hospital Paediatric Dental departments, the community dental service, specialist paediatric dental practice and general dental practice. Undergraduate students, dental therapists, hygienists and other dental auxiliaries are also encouraged to join at specially reduced rates.

The Society has representation on various committees and bodies involved in the development of oral health strategies, and has produced policy documents on various aspects of oral health and dental care for children.

The BSPD has thirteen regional branches which meet locally on a regular basis. These meetings have an educational as well as a social function, and include talks by speakers invited to update members about new developments in the field and its associated specialties. From May 2008 onwards they will also have a permanent London office.

We welcome them and look forward to a long working relationship between the two Societies.
