Mouthguards - Introduction

Dear COG Member,

I have recently undertaken a regional audit looking at the recommendation and provision of mouthguards within the West Midlands, under the supervision of Miss Lorraine Barreto, FTTA, Birmingham Dental Hospital.

The Clinical Standards Committee of the British Orthodontic Society have reviewed and approved this audit for extension nationally.

The aims of the national audit are:

1. To assess the recommendations made by Consultant Orthodontists within the UK, regarding the use of mouthguards.

2. To establish the provision of mouthguards within UK Hospital Orthodontic Departments.
