BOSF UK Birth Cohort Research Call

The British Orthodontic Society invites collaborative research applications, for up to £75,000 over 3 years, to support a project or projects, involved with one of the longitudinal UK birth cohort studies, such as the Avon Longitudinal Study of Parents and Children (ALSPAC) or Born in Bradford (BiB). These large studies recruit and follow up babies from birth to investigate how genetic, nutritional, environmental and social factors might influence growth, development, health and well-being. Establishing links with these studies will enable orthodontic researchers to undertake, mainly observation studies, with a large number of individuals, who have grown up and engaged with research all their lives. The Society is particularly (although not exclusively) interested in funding applications that investigate factors that influence the development of malocclusion.
