Anjli Patel 

 

Anjli graduated as a dentist in 2000 from the Charles Clifford Dental Hospital in Sheffield. She did her vocational training in Swadlincote and then took up posts in Maxillofacial Surgery and Orthodontics at the Queen’s Hospital in Burton on Trent, the Derby Royal Infirmary, Chesterfield Royal Hospital and the Queens Medical Centre in Nottingham. Following this she travelled to Australia and spent some time working in a dental practice in the Hunter Valley region, just north of Sydney.

In 2004, Anjli commenced full time specialist training in orthodontics at Kettering General Hospital and the Eastman Dental Institure, She obtained a Masters in Orthoodntics from the University of London and her Membership in Orthodontics from the Royal College of Surgeons, Edinburgh. This was followed by a two year consultant training pathway at Sheffield and Chesterfield to achieve the Fellowship in Orthodontics from the Royal College of Surgeons.

Anjli currently works as a consultant at Derby Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust and at No 1 The Orthodontic Specialists. 

Dr Amelia Jerreat

Amelia Jerreat was appointed to her current position as an Orthodontic Consultant at Royal Devon and Exeter Hospital in 2007. Previous to this she qualified from Bristol University with BDS in 1997. She underwent orthodontic specialty training at Eastman Dental Institute from 2000 – 2003 and was awarded an MSc in Orthodontics with Distinction followed by Membership in Orthodontics at the Royal College of Surgeons and Physicians, Edinburgh. Following further training at Cardiff University and Morriston Hospital, Wales she completed her Fellowship in Orthodontics in 2007. Amelia’s main interest is in teaching both undergraduates and postgraduates and is currently educational supervisor for their current trainees.        


Simon Watkinson 



 Simon Watkinson undertook his undergraduate training at the University of Newcastle-Upon-Tyne. He then undertook a number of training jobs prior to his specialist training in Liverpool. He completed his Consultant training in Manchester.

He is now a Consultant Orthodontist at both East Lancashire NHS Trust and Manchester Foundation Trust. He is also an Honorary Lecturer at Manchester University and supervisor for the University of Central Lancashire. Simon’s main area of clinical interest is in the treatment of patients requiring orthognathic surgery, those with hypodontia and those with impacted teeth. His main research interest is in early intervention for patients with a Class III malocclusion.

Simon is also an examiner for the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh

Elizabeth Roberts

Elizabeth Roberts qualified with a BDS from Dundee University in 1988. She has worked in general practice for 25years and orthodontic practice since 2004. She was employed as a Clinical assistant at Walsall Manor Hospital from 2002-2010 and currently, since 2009 at County Hospital, Staffordshire. Liz gained a certificate in the Principles of Orthodontics from Warwick University in 2007 and completed her Diploma in Primary Care Orthodontics in 2012. She is secretary for the Practitioner Group of the BOS and a committee member of her LDC.

          
        

             

Arunika Gunasekera

Qualified at the London Hospital Medical School 1987
MSc and M’Orth at the Royal London 1993.
Current Post; Specialist Orthodontist in Community at Bart’s Health and Lecturer in Orthodontics at the Royal London
My main interests are treating Class III cases and orthodontics for Child and Adult patients with Special care needs.
Current Positions held ; Treasurer for the Community Group and member of the Scholarships and Grants Committee

Mark Sayers

A GDC Registered Specialist orthodontist who divides his time between Queen Mary Hospital, Sidcup and the Grosvenor Orthodontic Clinic. A nationally recognised expert with Lingual appliances, particularly INCOGNITO, these fit the inside surfaces of the teeth and are therefore totally invisible. He also treats the more complex cases i.e. hypodontia or those that require orthognathic (facial) surgery.

                   

Rachel Willis

My role is to represent the Training Grades Group on the BOS Clinical standards committee. This involves reporting views and issues from TGG members to this committee and to ensure that we continuously improve clinical care and information provision for patients. I am keen for TGG members to get involved in clinical governance, audit and promote good clinical practice.

Mark Forty


I graduated in dentistry from Bristol University in 1993. After working in general dental practice and in the hospital service where I studied for my Fellowship in Dental Surgery I undertook a Masters degree in Orthodontics at Birmingham University. Now a registered specialist in orthodontics, I have a Membership in Orthodontics from the Royal College of Surgeons in Edinburgh. I have been a practice principal for 5 years in Solihull and Bromsgrove. My special interest is lingual orthodontics and I have one of the largest lingual brace practices in the UK. Over the past few years I have treated dentists and many of their children.

I am a past editor of the British Orthodontic Society Business Supplement and secretary of the Midland Orthodontic Society. I am a member of the British Lingual Orthodontic Society, the British Orthodontic Society and British Dental Association.
