Orthodontic Specialist Group (OSG)

For members in specialist orthodontic practice

The OSG aims to do the following:

  • Promote understanding of the expertise of orthodontic specialists both to colleagues in the dental profession and to the public.
  • Organise clinical meetings to support continuing professional development of members
  • Support members both individually and collectively
  • Liaise with other representative organisations related to the orthodontic profession and management of patients
  • Develop and publicise excellence among specialist practitioners and their practice teams.

The OSG committee is drawn from members of the Society who are Orthodontic Specialists working in primary care

Jiten Vadukul

Jiten qualified as a dentist from the University of Birmingham in 2008 with a prize-winning scope of clinical experience. He then spent several years across Hospitals in South Wales, Bristol and East Grinstead acquiring further skills in General, Paediatric, Restorative, and Community Dentistry, as well as in Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery and Orthodontics. In 2015, Jiten was awarded his Masters in Orthodontics with Distinction as well as a Membership in Orthodontics with the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh.

Kaval Patel

Kaval graduated dentistry from GKT (Guys & Kings College) in 2004. He completed his VT in Bristol, followed by SHO jobs in the South West of England. He has a Master's in Orthodontics (Singapore) and Periodontics (Germany). Kaval’s clinical interests are in orthognathic surgery and multidisciplinary orthodontics.  He is the director of a fully private practice: Eline Orthodontics in Central London.

Hannah Pugh

My position on the board is to represent the TGG’s opinions and keep the TGG members informed of any changes that are happening in Orthodontics at both a local and national level.

Jon Machell

Jon is a member of the British Orthodontic Society and Exeter Dental Society; he is past Chairman of the Exeter and District Section of the British Dental Society.

Damian Bourke

Damian qualified from Leeds in 1989. After a few years in practice, he worked as a SHO for two years gaining his Fellowship before embarking on orthodontic training at Sheffield.

Simon Jackson

Qualified in 1990 at the University of Leeds School of Dentistry. Undertook there year full-time course in Orthodontics at the Royal London Hospital School of Dentistry. Joined Specialist Orthodontic Practice, Epping in 1998.

Nadia Ahmed

Nadia has been an OSG committee member since 2017, and has also served as Clinical Governance representative for the OSG over the past few years, actively working with the CG committee to update a number of patient information leaflets and BOS guidelines.
